The journey offers a unique opportunity to explore the atmosphere of Vojvodina’s historic towns, as well as the breathtaking natural landscapes that define the region between the Serbian Carpathians and the Transylvanian Alps. It is particularly recommended for middle-aged and older travelers, but younger adults can also find plenty of fascinating experiences, as the region's rich history, local gastronomy, and natural wonders have something to offer for everyone.
Day 1: Novi Sad – Sremski Karlovci
The first day of the tour begins in Novi Sad, the capital of Vojvodina. Here, we will explore the city’s main landmarks, including the opulent town hall, the neo-Gothic Roman Catholic church, as well as the Orthodox Cathedral and the Bishop’s Palace, which we will admire from the outside.
Next, we continue our tour to Petrovaradin, where we will marvel at one of the largest and best preserved fortification systems of 18th-century domestic castle architecture, including its underground tunnels.
During the day, we will also visit Sremski Karlovci, where we will make a brief stop at the chapel marking the site of the historic peace treaty signing. As part of the optional program, you will have the opportunity to taste the famous wines of Srem at a local winery.
We conclude the day in Novi Sad, where we will check into our accommodation.
Day 2: The Small Kazan Gorge – Smederevo – Golubac
On the second day, we embark on a full-day excursion to the picturesque Small Kazan Gorge, where we can admire the breathtaking natural wonders of the region between the that define the region between the Serbian Carpathians and the Transylvanian Alps.
During the trip, we will visit Smederevo Fortress, which was once the largest water fortress in Europe. Our journey then continues to Golubac Fortress, which is considered one of the castle ruins also remembered from famous Hungarian poet János Arany’s ballad.
In Donji Milanovac, there is a stunning view of the Lower Danube, which reaches its greatest depth here—over 100 meters. After a short break in Kladovo, we continue toward Skorenovac, where we will stay overnight.
Skorenovac is one of the most fascinating and southernmost Hungarian settlements in Vojvodina, founded by Seklers who migrated from Bukovina.
Day 3: Belgrade – Totovo Selo
On the third day, we explore Belgrade and the Belgrade Fortress. Our visit includes Kalemegdan Park, the Serbian Orthodox Church, and the National Museum.
In the afternoon, an optional boat trip is available at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers.
We conclude the day in Totovo Selo, where guests will experience authentic rural hospitality and have the opportunity to taste Hungarian brandy, known as pálinka.
Day 4: Senta – Subotica – Palić
On the fourth day, we depart from Totovo Selo and head to Senta, where we visit the Battle of Senta Memorial and have the opportunity to ascend the Memorial Look-out Tower, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Continuing our journey, we travel to Subotica and Palić, where we explore the region’s remarkable Art Nouveau heritage. Highlights include the City Hall and the scenic lakeside promenades of Palić. Following the program, we return to Budapest, arriving in the evening.
